We are pleased to announce the launch of a new, centralized process for requesting FMLA (Family and Medical Leave Act) leave, designed to improve consistency and ensure compliance with federal requirements across the university.

Beginning, June 2, 2025, employees who need to request FMLA leave—whether for their own serious health condition or to care for a qualifying family member—will now initiate the process by completing a .

Why the Change?

This new process allows us to:

  • Streamline FMLA request intake across all employee groups

  • Standardize communications and documentation

  • Enhance compliance with federal FMLA requirements

We understand that this change will feel different depending on your previous experience. For some, this will be your first time using an electronic platform for leave requests. For others, this represents a simplified and more focused tool than what you may be used to. Regardless of your starting point, our goal is to deliver a consistent and compliant experience for all employees.

What’s Changing:

  • All FMLA requests must now be submitted electronically through the .

  • A dedicated FMLA pageÌýis now available on the University website. This page contains:


    • The link to the online intake form

    • General information about the FMLA process

    • Helpful resources to guide employees through each step

  • Once an employee submits the intake form, a member of the Benefits Team will review the request.

  • The employee will then be contacted by their assigned Benefit Specialist, who will assist them in navigating the FMLA process from start to finish.
