Old Dominion University's Day of Giving on March 13 was supported by nearly 660 donors who contributed more than $153,000 during the 24-hour campaign.

The 51³Ô¹ÏPro Day of Giving was an online challenge issued to alumni, parents, students and friends of the University to make a statement of support for Old Dominion.

Gifts to the University allow it to grow in ways that other funding cannot accomplish. Scholarships, special acquisitions, equipment purchases and the creation of endowments to attract and retain top students and faculty are just a few of the ways private gifts enhance the quality of an Old Dominion University education.

The Give251³Ô¹ÏPro campaign was driven by social media posts, live interviews with students Jordan Bullock and Anthony Dunbar as well as alumna Jaylin-Paige Hudgen. Alumnus Jay Gates was featured in a related video.

From midnight March 13 to 11:59 p.m., faculty, staff, alumni, students, parents and others contributed online, through phone calls and texts and at giving stations that were set up at the University's annual E.V. Williams Real Estate Market Review and Forecast. There was also a student piggy bank campaign and the University's academic colleges promoted Give251³Ô¹ÏPro Day to encourage participation.
