Welcome to the Office of Research Security and Export Control. Housed in the Division of Research and Economic Development, our mission is to uphold the principles of open and collaborative research while balancing federal policies in research security and export control.

We aim to strengthen the culture of compliance that protects sensitive information, technologies, and research activities while fostering innovative and global partnerships. We provide outreach, advising, and ongoing educational efforts to enable members of our research community to effectively address complex regulatory frameworks.

The office collaborates with investigators, administrators, and other institutional stakeholders to maintain the university’s leadership position in the secure and responsible conduct of research, advancing knowledge while safeguarding national security, institutional security, and global participation.
